Comparison : Battle of the Mattes

*ding, ding* Round two! Today I'm comparing several mattes. I was lucky enough to receive the re-released Zoya matte velvets from a friend recently and wanted to compare two of the Zoya mattes (Lolly is from a prior release) with other brands in my collection. First up we have pinks.

I have three matte pinks in my collection - Zoya Lolly, Manglaze Lesbihonest, and OPI La Paz-itively Hot matte - and you'll see that none of them are dupes. The Manglaze is much darker (more of a raspberry) than either the OPI or Zoya and the shimmer is much more pronounced. It was also the easiest to work with of the three. Photos show three coats of polish with no top coat.

Next up is green. Zoya Verushka and Manglaze Nawsome Sauce were definitely closer in the shimmer department but the base colour of Nawsome Sauce has more of a yellow tone than Verushka. Both had great formulas. Photos show two coats of polish with no top coat.

Are you a fan of matte polish? Pink or green?

NB: I would love it if you "like" me on Facebook and Instagram - makes it easier to keep up-to-date on my posts. When I reach 100 Facebook likes I will be holding a giveaway and who doesn't love free stuff? <3

  1. Hmm. Thank you for this. I don't feel the need to get Nawsome Sauce now, as I have Verushka. I like the color of Verushka better, and I was super impressed with the formula.

  2. I'm not a huge fan of matte polishes overall, I like my nails shiny. :) Between pink and green, pink is definitely my favorite, and Lesbihonest is really pretty! Add a high-gloss topcoat and I'd love it.

    1. I bet these would all look amazing with top coat and the shimmer would really pop. :)
